Nyoka Ann Smith

Born in Lafayette, Nyoka lived in DeQuincy and was a member of Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband, Luther Frank Smith, Sr.; daughters, Nacola Smith and Chassie Ann Langley and her husband Anthony, all of DeQuincy; sister, Ethyl Burgess and her husband Jimmy of DeQuincy; brothers, Clark Rainwater and his wife Debbie of Quitman, Arkansas and Jesse Ray Franklin and his wife Sissy of DeQuincy and 5 grandchildren. She also loved and was called Mama by Dennis Allen Rainwater, Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clark and Annie Rainwater; sons, Anthony Ray (Andy) Smith, Luther Frank (Doon Doon) Smith, Jr., brothers, Kenneth Paul Rainwater, Dennis Allen Rainwater, Sr. and Wilburn Franklin.

Her funeral will be on Tuesday, July 1, at 4:00pm in Smokey Cove Pentecostal Church with Rev. Clyde Clark and Rev. Clark Henry Rainwater, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Perkins Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00am until service time on Tuesday at the church. Nyoka was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother to so many. She will be forever loved and missed.
