

She was educated in Glenmora schools in Rapides Parish, Louisiana and worked for Martin & Son’s for some 15+ years in Sulphur, Louisiana. She was a member of First Church Of God In Christ of DeQuincy, Louisiana where the Rev. Davis is the Pastor.
Her passion was driven by a strong love for family. Ruby was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She raised 11 grandchildren and her life was not complete without taking care of children, even to those who were not family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Sharon Sawyer, Patsy Rogers Hawthorne; 2 brothers, Lawrence ‘PeeWee’ Rogers, Roy Rogers; a granddaughter, Trisha Guillory; and a grandson, Antonio Sawyer.
Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her husband, Henry ‘Tat’ Thomas of DeQuincy; 10 children, Quincena Baggett of DeRidder, Louisiana; Vickie Dinkins (John) of Hollywood, Florida; Dianne Sawyer of Kinder, Louisiana; Angela Sawyer, Sheila Jones (Jerry), Sparkle Thomas, LaShaunda Guillory, Michelle Guillory, Michael Guillory all of DeQuincy, Louisiana; Brandon Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia; a special grandchild, Patrick Rogers of DeQuincy, Louisiana; 2 sisters, Alice Blow of San Diego, California, Martha Clark Brew of Colfax, Louisiana; 1 brother, Jimmie Rogers of Oakland California; 42 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a host of loving extended family and friends.
