Sam Miller was born in Beauregard Parish to Sarah Elizabeth Hoosier Miller and Nick Miller on November 9, 1915. He was the grandson of John Hoosier and Zilla Ann Ashworth Hoosier, local pioneers of that area. He received his Wings on June 1, 2014 at the age of 98 in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Albert, Johnnie, Annie, Eva (Baby Doll), and Zilla. He is survived by one sister, Arlene Miller Stanley, of Lake Charles and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5, at 10:00am in Hixson Snider Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hennigan officiating. Burial will be in Hyatt Cemetery in Fields, Louisiana.
