She was born in Lake Charles and lived in DeQuincy until she moved to Ville Platte. She was a member of The First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy.
She is survived by her sons, James Huckaby of Crowley and David Huckaby of New Iberia; daughters, Diana Chapman of DeQuincy, JoAnne Huckaby of Jennings, Shelia Huckaby of Houston, TX and Ollie Mae Huckaby of Longview, TX; sister, Rose Bordelon of Ville Platte; 21 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Julius Kelly; parents, James and Nelda Lovett; daughter, Tommie Lou Huckaby; granddaughter, Tasha Istre.
Her funeral will be 11am, Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Wednesday 5pm-9pm and resume Thursday 8am until service time. Burial will be in Bird Nest Cemetery in Gillis. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
