

Jerry Max Post, age 88, of DeWitt, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born on January 8, 1937, in Lansing, he was the son of Arthur and Ethel (Smith) Post.
Jerry was a proud and hardworking man who retired from GM Fisher Body after 36 years as a skilled trades electrician. A true jack of all trades, he was known for his dedication, his resourcefulness, and his deep love for his family.
He was a longtime member of both the Moose and Eagle Lodges, and in his free time enjoyed bowling, golfing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, and cheering on his favorite teams, the Detroit Tigers and Lions.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sandra (LaVigne) Post; his son, Brian Jay Post; daughter, Brenda Kay (Post) Foley and her husband, Neil; brother-in-law, Ronald (Mary) LaVigne; sisters-in-law, Terri (Dennis) Courser and Joann Post; and son-in-law, Brett Burke.
He was the proud grandfather of five grandchildren—Ashley Post, Brandon (Lindsay) Post, Matthew Burke, Lindsey Burke, and Chelsea Burke (Greg)—and great-grandfather to fifteen great-grandchildren: Nevaeh, Ju’elz, Malia, Bennett, Kora, Mikayla, Parker, Gage, Hayleigh, Landon, Austin, Isabelle, Haley, Layla, and Mila.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and three brothers.
While there will be no formal funeral service, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12 from 12pm to 3pm at Prairie Creek Banquet Center, 800 E Webb Dr, DeWitt, MI 48820.
