Joan Marie Raglin

Growing up on the family's farm in Westphalia, Michigan, Joan and her four siblings had a playful relationship outside of tending to their chores, and they remained close throughout their lives. Educated at St. Mary's School in Westphalia, Joan graduated in 1960. She married Gary Raglin in December of 1961.

They raised their daughter and son in Bath. She was a loving mother, aunt and nana who taught countless life lessons. Her calming presence and thoughtful advice provided stability in times of uncertainty. A devout Catholic with a heart for service, for over 25 years Joan was a catechism teacher for young parishioners with disabilities at St Therese of Lisieux Church in Lansing, and was also an active volunteer at the St Vincent de Paul food pantry.

Working for the U.S. Postal Service in Bath and Lansing for many years, Joan's joy for life, work ethic, compassion, and sense of humor endeared her to colleagues, some who became lifelong friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Marilyn Forbes, and her brother Roger.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa (Phillip) Threadgould, her son Mark (Tahsina) Raglin, her granddaughter Marina Threadgould, her grandsons Anderson Threadgould, Ryan Raglin, Evan Raglin, her sister Carol Albrecht, and her brother Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held on October 25, 2022 at 11:00 with a visitation one hour prior to the service at St Therese Lisieux Church in Lansing.
