John N. Snider

John N. Snider, 86, of Bath, passed away at home December 12, 2017. He was born May 20, 1931 in Alma to Milan and Ruth (Richards) Snider. He graduated from Fulton High School in 1949 as co-valedictorian. He attended Alma College where he met Mary Alice Cook. They married August 3, 1957. Mary Alice predeceased him in 1992.

John was employed by Oldsmobile where he worked in Information Systems for 30 years, retiring in 1988. He served his community as a former Trustee of the Bath Township Board, served on the Vestry of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, was a member of the troop committee for BSA Troop 67, a life member of Pompeii Lodge IOOF, a life member and past Master of Carson City Lodge I&AM, life member and past Patron of Carson City Chapter OES, and served as Worthy Grand Patron of the Grand Chapter OES of Michigan in 1999, 2000.

He is survived by children, David (Keitha) Snider of Bath, Jenni Snider of Clio; grandchildren, Amanda (Noah) Schneider of Ada, Andrew Snider of Lansing; great grandsons, Jacob and Jonah Schneider of Ada.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, December 17, from 2:00-8:00 pm at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 1730 E. Grand River Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823 with a public Eastern Star Memorial Service at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home (East Lansing Chapel) 11:00 am Monday, December 18, with Rev. Gerald Ferguson officiating.
