Judy Hutchison was the nicest person anyone ever met. Born November 22, 1930, died March 13, 2017. Judy lived her life in Joy. She was adored by her parents, Dr. Franklin James and Unis May Cushman, and siblings Jim Cushman, Mary Ann Lambert, and Annice Douglas (surviving). Judy was beloved by her husband Ben and her children Christopher and Barbara Hutchison, Cynthia and John McCarty, Susie and Dave Ware, Kitte and Jim Rach, and Chad and Kevin Hutchison. The best parts of each of us came from her. She loved and was loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Judy is also survived by “The St. Mary’s Belles”, a phenomenal group of women who have witnessed each other’s lives. She taught us joy, love, patience, acceptance, and eternal optimism. Judy woke up with a smile and a laugh. She was kind to all she met, all friends quickly became included in her love. She baked more birthday cakes, apple pies, and turkeys than anyone could ever count. She was an avid bridge and euchre player and knew it was all about the cards you are dealt and what you can do with them.
Judy travelled the world, spent winters in Orange Beach, AL, and made a home in DeWitt for 46 years. Judy showed us the power of living life to the fullest until her peaceful passing, surrounded by the love of her family. Everyone who knew Judy is welcome to join her family for a celebration of life on Saturday morning, March 18, at 11:30 Christ United Church, 1000 W. Webb Rd. DeWitt (corner of Old 27). Family will receive visitors starting at 11:00. Following the service, you are invited to lunch, stories, laughter, and cards at the church. Those who wish, may make donations to the Christ United Garden Fund for plantings in Judy’s memory. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, DeWitt Chapel. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.grdewitt.com
