

Kenneth F. Whaley, 82, of DeWitt Township died May 20, 2016. He was born March 10, 1934 in Sylacauga, AL to Tom and Maggie (Willis) Whaley. He was a big fan of the MSU Spartans and the Detroit Tigers. Ken was an umpire for the City of Lansing Softball League, a MHSAA member, and officiated high school football and basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Jean. Surviving to cherish his memory are daughters, Kim (Ignacio) Cantu, Kendra (Murray) Murphy, Kelly (Alan) Parker; grandchildren, Heather Taylor, Amee Taylor, Mindee Murphy; great grandchild, Reese Taylor; and sister, Nettie Davis.
A funeral service will take place May 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, MI. The family will receive visitors May 25, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath, MI.
