Norman Michael Naimy—known affectionately as Norm, Normee, and most proudly, Dad—passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2025, in DeWitt, Michigan. He was born on July 24, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan, to Norman and Alice Naimy.
For 25 years, Norm served the Lansing community as a dedicated Lansing Police Officer. His heart of gold, outgoing nature, and gift for listening made him someone people naturally turned to in times of need. He had a sharp, smartass sense of humor that could lighten even the heaviest moments and a work ethic that inspired everyone around him. Following his retirement from LPD, Norm dedicated his time to continuously serving the community with the State of Michigan and Clinton County Sheriff's Office.
In 2002, Norm married the love of his life, Julie, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep pride in their children, Brendan and Kaylie. Norm cherished every moment spent with family and friends—sharing meals, going out to eat, and simply being in the company of those he loved.
A true fitness enthusiast, Norm was known for his daily dedication to the gym and his surprising affection for the stairmaster, a machine most people tried to avoid. He also enjoyed playing golf and pickleball, and he was a lifelong, enthusiastic Detroit Lions fan, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Julie; his children, Brendan and Kaylie Naimy; his brothers, Rob (Trudy) and Michael (Rene) Naimy; his sister-in-law, Pam (Paul) Jacobson; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, Michigan.
