He was born June 29, 1927 to Delbert and Estella Hogle. He spent most of his life in DeWitt, Michigan. Richard served in the US Marine Corp, during WWII, ending as a Corporal. He joined the Michigan National Guard and later worked full time for the Army as CW04 and retired after 38 years.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Fern Hogle; his brother, Peter Hogle; sister, Betty Selfridge; son, Mike (Cindy) Hogle; daughter, Roxanne (Jon) Smith; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Hogle; and brothers, Mike Hogle, Jack Hogle, Jerry Hogle, Don Hogle, Ed Hogle, Gene Hogle, and Rex Hogle.
Richard’s interests included traveling the world, camping, gardening, building various projects including the house he and his wife shared for the last 60 years. He also owned a small appliance service company.
He enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends and loved to host events. Camping was dear to his heart, especially when the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids joined him in the camping experience.
Dick enjoyed life and loved time with friends and family. He will be deeply missed by all.
