Roger Dean Dennis (80), of Lansing, Michigan left us to be with the Lord, December 9th, 2021 after a month long battle with COVID-19, with his son and daughter at his side. He was born September 18, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and graduated from Cedar Springs High School. He attended Michigan State University and Lansing Community College, then he went into the US Navy in 1961, becoming a Radioman Second Class, and left service honorably in 1965. He then worked for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services until he retired after 43 years in 2006.
He was not a man of many words, but shared his immense love, praise, and devotion through many actions shared with his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Ralph, mother Dorothy, step-father Lyle, brother Richard, and sister Jaqueline. He is survived by his wife of 46 years (together for 54 years), Beverly; his children Alan, Kirk, and Candy and her husband John; his grandchildren Cheyanne, Gabriel, and Zechariah; and a soon to be great-grandchild. He is also survived by brother Edward, sister Jean, brother Gerald, and brother Michael; as well as cousins, and many nephews and nieces.
He is best remembered for his quiet patience, hard work without complaint, entrepreneurial spirit, sense of humor, charm, peaceful easy going nature, charitable heart, and for being an honorable man. He believed words are thrown around so much that they lose the weight of their meaning, so he didn't say words of affection or praise often, he showed it, but when he said "I love you" or "I am proud of you" you really felt them, and you knew he always really meant them. He was loved tremendously, and will be greatly missed.
