Jesse James Theriot

Jesse was born on May 8, 1939, in Klotzville, LA, to Felix and Arthemise Coupel Theriot. He graduated from Ascension Catholic High School in 1957. He served in the National Guard. He retired from Dow Chemical where he was a plant operator. He was happiest helping his kids and grandkids, hunting with his boys, cooking and tinkering with old tractors. He spent his time servicing his church and his community. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Men's Club and the Pelican State Beagle Club.

Jesse is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Guichet Theriot; children Scott Theriot (Sherrie), Clint Theriot, Gregg Theriot (Rebecca), Morty Theriot (Teisha), Jessica Thompson (Bobby), Jay Theriot (Rene'), Ray Theriot (Jenny) and Cher Anderson (Shannon); grandchildren Kati Theriot, Janie Caballero (CJ), Alex Guedry (Tayler), Gregory Theriot (Marcy), Matthew Theriot (Rachel), Landon Daigle, Jesse Theriot (Hillary), Elizabeth Theriot, Owen Theriot, Jeanne Theriot, Angelle Theriot, Sydney Thompson, Shelby Thompson, Ross Anderson, Hudson Theriot, Hayden Theriot; great grandchildren Christian and Vivienne Guedry, Ava and Hayes Theriot, Walker, Wells and Wesson Theriot and baby Caballero due April 2025; brothers Robert (Joyce) and Reuben “Shorty” (Amalia) Theriot as well as numerous nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Clarice Theriot Plaisance and brother-in-law LeRoy Plaisance; children Brent and Gina Theriot; grandson Brant Theriot and great-grandson Wesley Caballero.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Theriot, Matthew Theriot, Landon Daigle, Jesse W. Theriot, Owen Theriot, Ross Anderson and Hudson Theriot

The Theriot family would like to extend a special thanks to Jesse's caregiver, Diane Aucoin.

Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm and will resume at 9am on Friday, January 31, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am with burial in Ascension Catholic Church Cemetery.
