John Anthony Politz, a native and resident of Plattenville, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the age of 89. John was a caring, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a kind hearted genuine man who deeply loved his family. John served in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He was the proud owner of the Paincourtville Carwash. He also had a passion for LSU sports and Saints football. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his two sons, Jerome and wife, Becky Politz and Paul and wife, Laura Politz. In addition, he leaves behind six grandchildren: Elizabeth Arceneaux, Jerome “Jay” Politz, Jessica Politz Martin, Ashton, Anna and Wade Politz; seven great grandchildren and one sister, Sally Duke. He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Politz and his siblings, Kate Carr, Rosalie Ballard, Joe, Pete and Sam Politz. The family would like to thank Darlene Breaux, Brenda Falcon and Darlene Landry for taking excellent care of John. The family is also grateful to Dr. Keith Landry and Heart of Hospice. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 from 9:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00pm at Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to follow in church mausoleum.
