

Lydia Marie Thibodaux Giroir, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 01, 2012. She was a native of Thibodaux and resident of Belle Rose. Lydia enjoyed baking, sewing, and going to the casinos. She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Stephen Viso, Sylvia and Herbert Coupel, and Lisa and Kenneth Thibodeaux; son Jeffrey Giroir; two sisters Betty Fremin and Lena Melancon; 12 grandchildren Stephen, Jason, Todd, Mary, Tammy, Tiffany, Brandy, Ashley, Paige, Chelsea, AJ, and Amy; 17 great grandchildren Hannah, Tyler, Emma, Ethan, Cole, Luke, Logan, Megan, Kaitlyn, Lelya, Noah, Adrianna, Ellie, Aubrey, Rivest, Haileigh, and Kynzlee.
Preceded in death by husband Alvin Giroir Sr.; son Alvin Giroir Jr.; daughters-in-law Maudry Giroir and Shirley Giroir; parents Louis and Bernedette Thibodaux; three sisters; and a brother.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose at 12:30 p.m. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum.
