

Maurice Anthony “Piyo” Gautreau, Sr., 86, died on Wednesday, March 05, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Donaldsonville. He was a native of Lauderdale, La. Piyo was a graduate of Ascension Catholic High School and LSU, then entered into the U.S. Navy. After the serving in the military he became a member of American Legion, Knights of Columbus and VFW. He was a retired sugar cane farmer of M.A. Gautreau and Co.
Piyo is survived by his loving wife of 63years, Anna Lee LeBlanc Gautreau; one daughter, Monique Gautreau and companion Bryan Charlet; two sons, Claude Gautreau and wife Gail, Maurice A. Gautreau, Jr. and wife Pam; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Blanchard and Clare Blanchard; one brother, Raymond Gautreau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Schexnayder and Adlar Patrick Gautreau; and one brother, Alvin Gautreau.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Donaldsonville. Entombment to follow in church mausoleum. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville.
Pallbearers will be Brian Landry, Chris Veillon, Brent Berthelot, Bryan Charlet, Ryan Gautreau, Matthew Davis, and Claude P. Gautreau. Honorary Pallbearer will be Maurice A. Gautreau, Jr.
