Mildred Landry Chiquet, 95, a native of Paincourtville and resident of Welcome, passed away on February 20, 2018. Mildred was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law and friend to many. She was a retired school worker for many years in St. James Parish. She was strong willed and very opinionated! She especially enjoyed reading but the most special thing to her was her family. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Coleman (Othel “Pee Wee”), and Linda Ann Byrd; two sons, Paul Chiquet (Dolores), and Charles “Chuck” Chiquet; two sisters, Linda LeBlanc and Gladys Zeringue; thirteen grandchildren and a host of great and great great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Cheryl Chiquet; and one sister-in-law, Clara Landry. She is preceded in death by her parents, Linda and Jean Landry; one son, Freddie Chiquet; one brother, JC Landry; one sister, Mary Louise Lasseigne; one son-in-law, Robert E. Byrd; one daughter-in-law, Elsie Chiquet; and two brother-in-laws, Claude LeBlanc and Alfred Zeringue. The family would also like to give a special thanks to her nurse, Judy Keller, for her love and compassion during this time.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian burial for 11:00 am at Ascension Catholic Church in Donaldsonville.
