

He worked as a cane farmer since the age of fifteen then became a turtle farmer for many years from which he retired.
He enjoyed cooking, cutting his grass, watching "Price Is Right" and his soap operas. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his puppy, Rocky.
He is survived by four daughters, Amanda Foy (Jacob), Iva Mae Hebert, Yvonne Sanchez and Juliette Tew (Brent); three sons, Norman Sanchez, Jr. (Mary), Terry Sanchez (Chantelle) and Hilary Sanchez; sister, Teresa Landry; brother, Frank Sanchez, Jr.; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann Sanchez; parents, Frank and Selita Sanchez; brothers, sisters; grand-daughter; and son-in-law.
The family would like to thank to Dr. Landry, his staff and St. Elizabeth Hospital. Also, a very special thanks to his daughter Amanda and son-in-law Jacob of Belle Rose, along with his granddaughter Marianne Medine who was available when he called and his son Hilary for always caring for him.
The pallbearers will be Tj, Dustin, Caleb, James, Wayne and Terry.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow for 11:00 am at St. Jules Catholic Church in Belle Rose. Interment in the church mausoleum. Father Tomi Thomas will officiate.
