Stephen Michael Michel

Stephen Michael Michel, 63, passed away after a long fought battle with cancer at his home surrounded by family, on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. A native and resident of Donaldsonville, he is survived by his wife of 40 years, Helena Berthelot Michel; daughter, Tiffany Elizabeth Michel; and brother, Edward Michel and wife Mary Claire. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward “Buddy” and Thelma Brou Michel. He retired from Shell Chemical in Geismar with 30 years of service then worked for Harang Sugars. He graduated from Nicholls State University. He was an avid sportsman in his earlier years then turned to horses, cattle, and loved working in the fields. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Smokebend. Interment to follow at Ascension of Our Lord Cemetery. Arrangements by Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville.

Pallbearers will be David Ponville, Ben Rongey, Patrick Martinez, Jr., Buck Johnson, Edward Michel, and Michael Berthelot. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marvin Blanchard and Patrick Martinez, Sr.
