Verlyn Cecilia Himel, 83, a resident of Donaldsonville, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017. Verlyn was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crafts, sewing and gardening. She is survived by her three children, Yvonne Roberts, Mark Leger and Gary Leger; one grandchild, Jill Lanoix Eiras; two great-grandchildren, Leah and Hayes Eiras; five sisters, Brenda Comeaux, Dorothy Robert, Diana Landry, Betty LeBlanc and Helen Sylvester and one brother, Edmund Capello. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Leger; husband, Linwood Himel; children’s father, John Irvin; parents, Joseph and Clodia Chandler Capello; two siblings, Albert John Capello and Dale Capello; one nephew, Todd Comeaux and one niece, Tonya Capello Barcelona. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6pm until 9pm at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville.
