My Dear Sister Betty, This is my final message to you Betty the last time we talked while you were in the hospital the last words that we could say to each other were, hey Betty, hey Rae. Me, you know I love you right? Betty says I love you too Rae! Those were the last and final words. These words were spoken so much down through the years each time we would greet each other! Hey Betty, Hi Rae, you know I love you! I love you too Rae! So many times we greet each other reminding each other about the love that we shared between the two of us way back years ago when we first met it was such a closeness. We were inseparable she was the best friend that had unconditional love no matter what I was going through! She always treated me with respect she always loved me and everything that was apart of me even my bad relationship. Sometimes bad choices that I've made on my own and willfully. The time she encouraged me that everything was going to be all right no matter what I was going through. When I was in my addictions of being an alcoholic she did not judge me she loved and cared for me. She showed it she was not my judge she showed me what real friendship and real love was all about!  In exchange I feel the same way. We shared everything our children, our finances, our disappointments, and our fears. We were always trying to be the best at whatever we did and helping others. Trying to be reliable, faithful to God, lifting one another up in love always, never had a fight  or saying hurting words. My last words to you my sister is I love you Betty! I can hear you say I love you too Rae! Thank you for being you I believe that every good and perfect gift comes from the Lord! It is with both sorrow and deep gratitude that we reflect on the life of our beloved niece and church daughter, Sister Betty Ann Washington. As her Pastor and First Lady—but more personally, her Uncle and Aunt—we had the unique blessing of witnessing her spiritual walk, her quiet strength, and her unwavering faith, both within the family and in the ministry.



Betty was a faithful servant of the Lord—steadfast, dependable, and devoted. She wasn’t loud or showy, but her presence was powerful. You could always count on Betty to be in her place, ready to serve, never asking for recognition. She walked with humility and honored God in her consistency. Her life was a reflection of grace, reverence, and quiet strength.



As her family, we will miss her deeply. As her spiritual leaders, we are proud of the life she lived and the example she leaves behind. Betty loved God, her church, and her family. Her journey here is complete, and we take comfort in knowing that she has received her eternal reward.



We will cherish her memory and thank God for the time we were blessed to share with her. Rest well, Betty. You have finished your course with grace.

Sister Betty was a caring person. She had nine children to feed but yet she had an open arms to feed others. I remembered spending a lot of after church trips to come over her house because I knew I would be treated as her own. Her love & worship was real. Often times she encourage me to praise the Lord. At times I got tired saying Jesus which felt like a thousandth times. I can even recall her telling someone at the church give me some tissue, let me sit down.She was a genuine person. Sis. Every birthday, she never missed a beat—always showering me with gifts wrapped in love. But some of my favorite memories are the simple ones—like when she’d surprise me with my favorite snacks and drinks growing up. I can still see her smiling as she handed me a cold Kiwi Strawberry Snapple. That was her—so thoughtful, so generous, always paying attention to the little things that mattered.



She wasn’t just my Godmother. She was a loving supporter, a steady presence, and someone who poured love into my life in ways I will never forget. Her kindness and care will always remain with me, and her memory will live on in every sweet moment she gave.

Sis. Betty served faithfully in every season, often working quietly and diligently behind the scenes. She didn’t speak much, but her presence spoke volumes. Her consistent dedication and willingness to serve were a steady example to all who worked alongside her. She honored her commitments and gave her best in everything she did for the ministry.



She was more than a member; she was family. Her love for God and her devotion to Greater Shiloh Church will never be forgotten. Though we will miss her dearly, we rejoice in knowing that she is resting in the arms of our Savior, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

It’s never easy to say goodbye, and we will miss you greatly but I take comfort in knowing that your fight is over and you’re finally at peace. No more pain, no more struggle-just rest. And I know without a doubt that you’re resting safely in the arms of our Heavenly Father, surrounded by light and love.

I’m never not gonna miss you, Granny, but I’m gonna be able to look back fondly more than anything. Something tells me that you would prefer I smiled at you being able to live out a nice, fulfilling life rather than break down every time anyway. You were the main one always telling me to keep my head up, shake off any negativity in my body both figuratively and literally, scream out into the world if I needed to release any tension. You were there before I could get any official therapy, and even that doesn’t compare to the talks we’ve had. Nobody will come that close. Even if you aren’t here to give me any more advice, you’ve given me enough to last a lifetime, and I will cherish every word you’ve said to me. Rest in paradise, Granny, and tell everyone I said waddup.

My God daughter Megan is your grand daughter. We will always be here for your son and his daughter.

There’s so much I want to say to you Nana but words couldn’t express the hurt I feel I would’ve never thought the last time I saw you would be the last time I would ever see you again. Your love was unmatched and unconditional. Lord knows I cherish every moment I spent with you it will never go in vain. I will forever hold our memories dearly in my heart I Love You.
