Two months shy of her 97th Birthday, Evelyn Busch passed away peacefully on October 20 at PIH-Downey with her daughter at her side. Evelyn and her husband moved to California from Chicago in 1943. After 2 years in south Gate they bought a home in Downey where they raised 3 children and spent the rest of their life together. The center of that life was her children and grandchildren. She and her husband hosted many family vacations, holiday gatherings, birthdays and barbeques. Many days were spent watching her grandchildren participate in DJAA at Apollo Park. Add in her love of slot machined, exercise, Tiger Woods and Champagne Brunch, Evelyn lived a full life
.

I’d like the memory of
Me To be a happy one.
I’d like To leave an
Afterglow of Smiles
When the day is done.
I’d like to leave an echo.
Whispering softly down
The Ways of happy times
And Laughing times and
Bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those
Who grieve to dry before
The Sun of happy memories
That I leave behind when
Day is done.
Arrangements under the direction of Miller Mies Downey Mortuary, Downey, CA.
