James Patrick Shea

Pat met Doris Eileen Newport in 1948, in San Marino, CA. They were soon married on April 17, 1950 on the TV Show, ‘Wedding Bells’. Pat was 22 years old and Doris 19 years old.

They welcomed 4 children into the world: Mike, Craig, Colleen (Peachy) and Perry.

They purchased a house in Lakewood, CA and not long after moved to Bellflower, CA where they raised their 4 children.  

Pat and Doris were married 71 years. Pat loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, bike riding, art, football, baseball, golf, motorcycle riding, disc golf, tennis, body surfing, weight lifting, ping pong, skating, the Dodgers, playing the piano, playing his harmonica, writing songs and singing of his Lord and Savior. Many of his grandchildren endearingly called him ‘Grumps’. He was deeply loved and we will cherish all the memories we shared together. 

Pat is survived by his children Craig and Nita (Toots) Shea, Colleen (Peachy) and Mark Rasile.  

Pat is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his wife Doris Eileen Shea, eldest son John Micheal Shea and youngest son Perry Brian Shea.
