Karl John Kalma

Karl John Kalma was born May 4, 1952 to James and Nellie Kalma. He grew up in Artesia, California where he attended the Valley Christian School System from K - 12. At Valley, he played multiple sports including cross-country, football, basketball and track. Karl continued his education at Cal State Fullerton where he got a BS in Accounting. He took his first job at Zoeteway & Dykstra as an accountant. He then moved into the controller position at Rockview Farms. Karl then went to work for Excel Garden Products. The next position Karl took was as finance manager at West Coast Sand and Gravel. 



Karl married the love of his life Lorrie Groot on March 22, 1975. They were blessed with 3 boys Kyle (Natalie) Kalma, Jeremy Kalma, and Adam Kalma, as well as two grandchildren Trevor and Austin Kalma. He is survived by his brother Jake (Val) Kalma, sister-in-law Linda (Rick) Rollema, Kevin Groot, mother-in-law Greta (Dick) Huizenga, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents James and Nellie Kalma. 



His memorial service will be held on Wednesday 3/9 at 11:30am at SeaCoast Grace Church in Cypress, CA.

The Kalma Family has chosen to have an open-casket viewing for those who would like say good-bye to Karl as well as those who cannot attend the memorial service. The immediate Kalma family will be present at this viewing. Please do not feel obligated to attend both services.
