Mary Louise Randall was born in Hynes, CA (now the city of Paramount, CA) on August 7, 1924. Her Father was John Sousa Rebello, born in Sao Jorge, Azores Islands, Portugal and her Mother was Esther Rascon Rebello, born in Chihuahua, Mexico. She met and married Gerald Forrest Randall on May 29, 1948 and they were married until his death in August 1989. Her children are Lenora Jean McAvoy, who resides in Prescott, Arizona and Geraldine Faye Dwankowski who resides in Long Beach, CA. She has five granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Mary’s greatest love was her family and friends. She was the best “listener” to others joys and sorrows, especially her daughters and granddaughters at every stage of their lives. Her most precious works of art were not that of Van Gogh or Rembrandt, but of those made by her granddaughters, great-grand children, her friends who were artists, and her sister Josephine.
Mary liked to crochet, do word-search puzzles, and watch both the Dodgers and Angels. She also liked watching ice-skating. Some of her best times were when she and her husband Gerald would watch the games “over the intercom”, when he was outside and she inside in the kitchen. They would call each other over the intercom and discuss the last play or hit in the game. She knew the rules and baseball players as well as anyone who loved the game.
Remembering friend’s and family’s birthdays was so important to Mary. They knew that they could count on receiving a greeting on their special day. From childhood friends to friends she made in the past few years, they were all special to her. She loved talking on the phone and even had a “new fangled” cell phone for a few years until she became hard of hearing.
Mary Louise Randall was one-of-a-kind….she loved with all of her heart, listened and imparted good advice. Thank you for being you!
