Myron Edward Miller Jr, known to all of his family and friends as “Mike”, was born in St Paul, MN on January 18th, 1932 to Myron & Lillian Miller, passed away December 23, 2021. He is survived by his son Scott, and daughter Tami and her children Aibreann, Eireann, and Aidan; as well as his younger sisters Ginnie (Virginia) and Kelly (Carolyn). He was preceded to eternal rest by his younger brother Harley (Harlan) in 2019.
After working for the St Paul & 7-Up Bottling Company (SPBC) for 2 years immediately after high school, Mike was drafted and served time in the Army during the Korean war beginning in 1952 and was fortunate to spend his entire time in Germany as an MP Corporal keeping the peace in Bavaria --- taking advantage of his leisure time traveling the country and the surrounding region. Upon discharge in 1954, he returned to St Paul and to the job at SPBC. It was at this starting point that Mike would remain an ambitious employee for the 7-Up beverage company for his entire professional career until his retirement in 1992. A rare, loyal, rewarding and exceptional story -- which he began as a truck driver and ended as an international contract operations manager in Southern California – and all on his solid work ethic and Harding High School Diploma. He also met Jeanette Laskwoski while working at 7-Up Los Angeles in 1964 and married her in 1967, the love of his life for 42 years until her death in 2009.
Mike was actively involved with and enjoyed being an athlete - most especially playing ice hockey as a goaltender in his younger days; coaching, guiding, and mentoring his kids in their younger days; traveling the world with his beloved Jan in his retirement days; and going back to his native Minnesota every year to see his family and cousins in his senior days. A kind, caring, accepting and peaceful man, he - along with Jan - made sure that family was always his ultimate commitment.
