

Winona Marquita Winford, 87, long time resident of Lakewood, CA passed away April 21, 2012. Winona was born September 6, 1924 in Oxnard, CA. She was the daughter of Maud D. (Stevenson) and Harry H. Wilson.
Winona was preceded in death by her husband and love of 65 years, John T. Winford. She is survived by her adoring sons, Michael of Norwalk, CA and Thomas of Huntington Beach, CA. Her loving grandchildren, Suzanne (Dale) McCracken of Cave City, AR, Amanda (Derrick) Boult of Huntington Beach, CA, Joseph Winford of Menifee, CA, and Courtney (Mike) Rumford of Huntington Beach, CA. Her beloved great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kiley Foley of Cave City, AR and Matthew Rumford of Huntington, Beach, CA. She also leaves her sisters in law, Doris Winford and Helen Sittig and brother in law, Stu Sittig, all of Placentia, CA. along with many nieces and nephews.
Winona was an Avon Representative for over 45 years earning the respected membership into the President’s Club. She was an immaculate homemaker and known for her infamous cooking by her family and many friends. Winona was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church and served on the Alter Guild for over 50 years She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Ladies Auxiliary. She was member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Bellflower Chapter 397. Winona held many offices and served as Worthy Matron in 1987 with her husband. She was an active Sweetheart of both Bellflower Masonic Lodge #320 and Golden Trowel Norwalk Masonic Lodge #273. Winona enjoyed camping and traveling, having put many miles the motor home and enjoying several cruises with her family and friends.
A viewing will be held Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 4-8pm at White’s Funeral Home in Bellflower, CA. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Bellflower Masonic Center, 9813 Beach St. Bellflower, and CA. Interment will follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:00pm.
