

Loving wife of the late Robert (May 23, 2022); devoted mother to Paul (and the late Christine), Janice Moffatt and Steven; a proud grandmother of Devin (Amanda), Lindsay, Andrew, Stephanie (Ken), and great-grandmother to Nevaeh, Liam, Camden, Asher, and Phineas.
Barbara was born to John and Elsie Wallington on February 7, 1929 in Hamilton, Ontario. She was a gifted pianist, where she trained at the Ontario Conservatory of Music, as well as a gifted artist and loved gardening.
Barb and Bob were married in Hamilton on February 7, 1952, and raised their family in the Flamborough home they built in 1953, more recently spending her last year at Blackadar Nursing Home.
Barbara, along with Bob, incorporated R. Folkes Ent. Ltd in 1958, served the Dundas area for many years.
In 1961, they opened a retail store, R. Folkes House of Lights and Shades, on Hatt Street in Dundas, which specialized in lighting fixtures, shades, plumbing supplies and electrical parts. Bob’s son Paul joined the business training in both electrical and plumbing service work.
Bob and Barb spent many years traveling the world while wintering in Florida, first in Naples and later in Port Charlotte. In 1967, Barbara and Bob built their cottage near Honey Harbour that the family has enjoyed ever since.
The family will receive friends at the Marlatt Funeral Home, Swackhamer Chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas on Sunday, October 22, 2023 from 2-5pm.
