Daughter of Albert and Angela Marcotte
Age 86 - Hamilton, Ontario
Betty loved the simple pleasures in life - casino trips with Norm, Marilyn, Wendy, and David, a good game of cards, scratch tickets, long drives down backroads, finding a cozy spot that served soup worth talking about, and cousins' nights that always brought laughter. She enjoyed her trips to Britt to visit her parents and brother Doug, which always held a special place in her heart. She also loved her Bingo Blitz family, enjoying laughs and friendly competition with her online friends. She was funny, strong-willed, and happiest when surrounded by her family.
Her children will always remember their mother in the 70's as the "little lady" in curlers and a scarf, cigarette dangling with a long ash, and slippers on her feet. That image alone will bring smiles for years to come. She didn't need fancy things - just laughter, love, and her people close by.
Betty's children Tanya, Robert, and Sean will carry her memory forward, along with her son-in-law Al and daughter-in-law Carlane; Her grandchildren - Kyle, Corey, Brett, Alicia, Rachael, Maigan, Tesha, Brittany, Dylan, Jordan, Rachel, Zachary, and Ethan. Betty was a loving GG to Ellie, Jonah, Lucy, Quintin, Via, Kenzie, Riley, Skylar, Bryson, and Chase. They were her pride and joy.
Betty will be sadly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be reunited with her granddaughter Ashley, brother Len, sister Jean, her sisters-in-law Shirley and June, and her best friend Rose.
A visitation and service to celebrate Betty's life will be held at Marlatt funeral home, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Monday, September 22 from 11:30am-1:30pm with a service following in the chapel. In her honor, Betty would prefer no flowers, instead donations in her memory may be made to the Hamilton SPCA or St. John Ambulance service dog training program.
Curlers, scarf, slippers, and a laugh - that's how we'll remember Betty. Our little lady, forever in our hearts.
