After a brief but excruciatingly painful illness, it is with broken hearts, that we announce the recent passing of our dear brother, son, and uncle, Brian Tasker.
Brian had only just reached his 65th birthday this past March, although he took advantage of an early and fruitful retirement over the last 9 years. Brian dedicated 30 years of service to CNR as a class 1 welder Foreman, which he excelled at.
Brian is the Treasured son of Claudette & Barry (predeceased), Loyal brother to his sister Geraldine (Paul deceased), and brothers David & Mark (Karen). He will be sadly missed by his Aunt Anita, nephews Brett (Monica, Gemma), Luke (Carly, Charlotte), Aiden & Aaron, and cousins Debra, Wendy, Kevin & Heather and extended family, Stan & Shirley in England.
Brian was a "Jack of All Trades" though Master of None, however he was quick to lend a helping hand and known for his heart of gold.
As a huge Nascar fan, you would not bother Big Bri on a Saturday or Sunday during racing season. He enjoyed beers & many laughs on Friday afternoons with his dad & brothers. Brian was known for making the best "sex in a pan" for many family gatherings, where lawn darts or euchre were the sports of choice! He loved to tease, scare, and trick the kids and he liked to confuse us by telling the biggest white lies with the straightest of faces!
Brian touched all of our hearts and there he will always stay.
Nascar has lost one of their biggest fans. He finally took the checkered flag and pulled into the eternal pit stop. He is now taking the ultimate victory lap.
Special thanks to first responder John, the emergency staff at Juravinski and the kind & compassionate team at St. Peter’s Hospice, as well as his lifelong friend and caregiver, Janet.
As per Brian’s wishes, a private viewing has been held, followed by cremation. A private family function will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations in Brian's honour may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada or St. Peter's Hospital Hamilton.
