Dear Hageman family,  It is so heartbreaking to hear this news and my prayers are with you all as you grieve this loss of someone so precious to you. 

I remember Mrs Hageman  always greeting us friends in our teens and early twenties with a big smile and hug.  She taught us about "wogging" and even prepped and ran a mini marathon with a couple of us.  I was greatful for her constant kindness and encouragement in Christ as we did our early morning runs.  Even when seeing her after this she never did change from this.  Looking forward to seeing her smile again in a much better place My heart goes out to you all as you greive for her here..<3

What a wonderful tribute to your Cindy today. It was absolutely very special to hear from all of your children, your granddaughter and of course that extra special honor to Cindy and our Lord that you shared with all of us. 

Cindy was definitely that very special, loving lady whom you all shared about. It was always a great delight to just be able to have a short conversation with her… or even receive that sweet smile in a hurried passing. 

I first met you both (& Elizabeth) at EBC around 2003, and what a blessing it was to first just become acquaintances, then as time went along, friends. Being fellow Canadians added to the endearment we shared. 

Over the years there’s been minimal interaction because of the distance between us.  But on at least one occasion & possibly two, you & Cindy made the effort to visit Jackie & me in the Syracuse area. What a blessing you both were to us on those visits. And, another visit was in the plan for the near future. Sadly that now won’t happen… but the thought of the possibility will always be cherished. 

I understand the pain of the loss of the love of your life. I also know the power of the grace, love, & great comfort of our Lord Jesus as we walk through that valley. May you all sense that special closeness in the coming days.

I was blessed to have known Cindy as part of my church family, Whenever I entered the church I was met with a hug from Cindy, one of those hugs that made you feel valued, accepted and loved. Cindy was gifted with the ability to really listen without distraction, to offer prayer without reservation, to bring hope and encouragement without limits. She truly lived 1Corinthians 13:13, "Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly, knowing the best of the three is love". Cindy was a true gift from God, someone who knew God's love never fails.

My heart is so sad hearing the news of Cindy’s passing. My thoughts and prayers are with John and family. I met John and Cindy at Elim Bible school. We became close friends.  I have many wonderful memories. Cindy was a blessing in my life and my life is richer from knowing her.  Although Cindy is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord she leaves behind a void in all of our hearts.

There are some people who simply make a place feel like home, and Cindy was one of those people for us. Every Sunday, she welcomed us with her warm hugs, her beautiful smile, and that genuine way she had of making you feel like she was truly happy to see you. She didn’t just greet us at church—she made us feel seen, known, and like we belonged.

We’ll always smile when we think about the conversations she shared with Brody about F1 and the excitement she had watching our little Abby grow. She remembered the little things, celebrated the milestones with us, and made our family feel cared for. Just last week, Cindy was sharing in our excitement because Abby had just learned to walk. We had no idea that moment would become one of the last memories we would have with her, and knowing that makes it even more precious.

It’s hard to walk into church now and not look for Cindy’s smile or expect one of those warm hugs. Her absence is deeply felt, but so is the love she left behind. We are incredibly grateful that God allowed our paths to cross and that He gave us the gift of knowing Cindy.

We pray that God comforts her family and all who loved her, and we will carry Cindy’s memory with us every time we walk through those church doors. Until we meet again in Heaven. 🤍

Through the good times and bad times Cindy has always been there to listen and support me. She and John set a great example of what caring and giving should look like.
