Beloved husband of Inez and loving father to Catherine and Christopher. Brother to Steven (Kelly), Mary (Frank), Vince (Arlene), Nancy, and Victor (Louise). Brother-in-Law to Mary, Sheilagh (Hubert), Peter (Kathy), and Bernard. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Both professionally and personally, David was described as kind, funny, and generous. David was a proud employee of CIBC for 35 years. He could look over a company’s financial statements and in minutes could tell you if there was a deal to be made or not. He had a very keen understanding of credit and risk.
David enjoyed many things in his life, including playing golf, going to the racetrack, watching sports on TV, and, of course, food. David enjoyed going on road trips with his family, including visits to Niagara Falls with his brothers. The longest and most enjoyable road trip was the visit to Inez’s hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland and exploring the East Coast. He thoroughly enjoyed going to McDonald’s for breakfast and then visiting various construction sites with his friend, Dom. First and foremost, however, his greatest love was his family.
David took comfort in the belief that when his time came, he would be reunited with loved ones who had gone before him. He often looked forward to the thought of finally meeting his father-in-law and mother-in-law, whom he never had the opportunity to know in life.
