

Peacefully and with intrepid circumspection, Frank passed away with loved ones by his side in his 86th year on November 7, 2015. Born August 3, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Gladys Simm. Frank was predeceased by his loving wife, Ileen (Dee) Simm (1923-1998) and left behind his treasured companion, Marlyn Fraser. He was the caring father of Charles Simm (Kimberly), Sandra Simm and his youngest son, Frank Simm (1956-1992). Frank also leaves behind his grandchildren: Tracy Mackie (Gord), Marcus Bowen (Shannon), Matthew Bowen, Tamara Darchiville (Shaun), Christopher Simm (Meghan), Cherie Simm (Craig Pettigrew) and Glen Simm (Dorothy). Frank worked for 25 years at Stelco where he was actively involved in Local 1005 as a Chief Stewart and as a regular contributor to Steel Shots. Frank was an active Mason, Shriner and celebrated Toastmaster. An autodidact, Frank read vigorously and engaged in cerebral pursuits. His sense of humour and occasion will be missed. Timendi causa est nescire. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford), Hamilton, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 2 p.m.
