

It is with many tears that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of a beloved husband and friend, Jack.
He leaves behind his loving wife and sailing partner, Diana. He is predeceased by his son, Pte. Jason C. Rees in 2011, his mother Marguerite in 1999 and his father Guy in 2016. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Gary (Linda), and Jim (Gwen), and sister Janice Schreiber and his mother in law Audrey Robitaille and father in law Jim Robitaille. Also missed by his brothers in law David (Anna) Robitaille, Paul Robitaille, and sister in law Lynn (Don) Graham, his grandchildren Aislyn, Morgan, Cori, and Cadence Rees, his many nieces and nephews, friends and fellow sailors.
Jack was a sailor for over 50 years, and a longtime member of the R.H.Y.C. and sailed with his wife for 31 years, on their boat, Windthief. A past member of the Symphony Hamilton (percussionist), the Flying Tigers, several Anglican Church Choirs, a historian and motorcyclist. He worked for 15 years with Stelco, and later owned D.A. Sound until his retirement in 2020.
Jack was laid to rest in a private ceremony. Friends are asked to join the family for a Memorial Visitation at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main Street East, Hamilton on Friday, September 16th from 6-9pm. A Celebration of Jack’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 11am at Christ’s Church Cathedral, 252 James Street North, Hamilton.
