On May 30, 2026, peacefully in her home, our beloved mom and Nanny, Joan Macartney passed away in her 97th year. Joan was a determined and independent women who always followed her own path. Her love for her family shone through in her beautiful smiles and warm affection.
She leaves behind her children, Steven Agro, (Joanne) John Agro (Michael), her loving grandchildren Stephanie Di Ianni (Paul) Andrea Agro (Roger) and the loves of her life, her 5 great grandchildren, Sebastian, Giorgia, Ben, Nailah and Elliot. They loved their Nanny and she loved them. We can picture Joan truly happy to be reunited with her sisters Bernice and Eileen, her brothers Bill and Murray, and her dearest friend Joe.
In honour of Joan’s deep affection for children, memorial donations can be made to FOOD4KIDS HAMILTON.
As per her wishes, there will be a private family internment.
