After a brief illness, passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on August 9, 2025 at age 86. Loving wife of the late Clifford Howell. Cherished mother of Brian (late Alvina) and Wendy (Colin). Predeceased by her sister Barbara (late Don). Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Lois was a longtime member of Ryerson United Church, and was an integral part of the choir for more than 70 years. She was respected for her musical talent which she generously shared with others. Lois was also a passionate artist in decoupage, and loved spending time at the cottage on Skeleton Lake with her family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Village of Wentworth Heights, the ICU staff at Juravinski Hospital, and all of the family and friends who supported and cared for Lois.
Visitation will be held at the Marlatt Funeral Home, 615 Main Street East (east of Sanford Ave.), Hamilton, on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Marlatt Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Private interment to follow at Grove Cemetery, Dundas.
