Mary-Joan Galway

Mary-Joan passed away peacefully on February 11th, 2016. She spent her final days surrounded by family. She is predeceased by her beloved mother and brother, Dorothy Mabel Galway (nee Cairns), John Galway and his dog Buck and her beloved dog Toby.

Her endless devotion to her family kept her going through her long battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed by her father Edward Thomas Galway, her sisters and brother-in-law’s Sheryl and Clive Davis, Pat and Rod McDonald and Kathleen Galway. Her nieces and nephew Edward, Patricia and John, Pam and Brad, Elizabeth and Dan, and Virginia and Phill gave her great joy. She loved every moment with them and their children Cerridwen, James, Silas, Max, Riley, Gabriella, Sebastian, Zinnia and Zander.

A passionate teacher, Mary-Joan loved to challenge children. It gave her great joy to see them learn and develop the desire to succeed. She will be remembered as a fabulous teacher.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the VON Hamilton and CCAC palliative teams for their wonderful care.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
