Peggy Irene Purchase

Peggy Irene Purchase (née Bennett) was born in London, England, in 1925. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Wentworth Lodge in Dundas, surrounded by her loving family. She was in her 101st year.

Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joe, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion, and by her cherished daughter, Linda.

Loving mother of Russ (Tammy). Cherished grandma of Taylor (Lindsey) and Mitchell, and GG to Aven, Aubrey and James. She is also survived by her nephew, Graham (Kim); her niece, Marilyn (Andrew); extended family and many dear friends, both here and in England, all of whom will miss her deeply.

Peggy and Joe shared many wonderful years together and especially enjoyed spending their winters in Florida. They created countless happy memories with their dear friends, Bob and Marion, whose friendship meant so much to them throughout the years. Mom also enjoyed square dancing, gardening and painting.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wentworth Lodge, Trillium Court, for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion they showed mom over the years. Their dedication, warmth, and support brought great comfort to all of us and will always be remembered with sincere appreciation. Thank you for always going above and beyond.

Mom will be remembered for her stoic spirit, all the war time stories, her love of family, and the many lives she touched throughout her long and remarkable life. Her memory will be treasured always.

Cremation has taken place. Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Peggy's life at the Marlatt Funeral Home, Swackhamer Chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas (Reception House), on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
