It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Arnold on October 23, surrounded by his family. Peter will be remembered by his beloved wife Shirley (nee Southall), his children Cathy (Grant), Dale (Lynn), step-children Jeff and Sherri Gavin. His grandchildren Samantha, Charlie, Carley and Cameron, step-grandchildren Victoria, Alyssa, Blake, Gryphon, and five great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his sisters Susan (Stan), Debbie (late Reb) and many nieces and nephews and in-laws Bill (Ruth), Sandy (Jerry), and Joe.
Peter began working at the quarry in 1963 and retired after 50 years of dedicated service. Known for his tireless work ethic, he put the same care and pride into everything he did – From long days on the job to tending his beloved grass at home and up north. Peter loved his Friday the 13th motorcycle rides with his buddies and was always good for a joke, a story, or a laugh that could brighten anyone’s day. His steady hands, easy humor, and kind heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Peter is now at peace after a courageous battle with cancer. The family would like to thank the doctors and support team at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
A celebration of life will be held at Marlatt funeral home, Swackhamer Chapel, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on November 3rd, from 12:00pm-3:00pm.
