A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Peter was affectionately known to us all as Pop. He was supremely kind and patient, and we will miss him to no end.
Peter was born May 16, 1928, in Dumfries, Scotland, the son of Quintin and Janet Wyllie. In 1951, he met Marion White, the love of his life, who he is survived by. They dreamed of creating a new life in Canada and moved here in 1956. Peter had a long and successful career in the aerospace avionics industry working for Marconi Canada and General Electric in Newfoundland, Quebec and Ontario. Family always came first. He and Marion welcomed three daughters, Debbie, followed by Kim and then Yvonne and later extended the family with loving sons-in-law: the late Christopher, Brad and Erich. He was blessed with four adoring grandchildren: Emily (Caleb), Sarah (Seb), Ben and Ailsa, plus great grandchildren Evelyn, Oscar and Eloise. Peter loved family gatherings, especially at Christmas, all the family dogs, his backyard oasis, and his family and friends back in Scotland and in Canada.
Cremation and a private family service have occurred, as per Peter’s wishes. A special thank you to Dr. John Holmes and staff and the wonderful palliative care team. As an expression of sympathy, a donation to Carpenter Hospice in Burlington would be appreciated by the family.
