Stanislawa was born in Maldiai, Lithuania as the third oldest of twelve children of lgnas Sidlauskas and Victoria Semaskas. Of her six sisters and five brothers, she is survived only by her eldest sister Adele, 101 years old , living in Lithuania.
During the occupation by Russia in World War 2, Stanislawa was active in the Lithuanian Partisan Resistance, captured and exiled to Siberia for eight years. Upon release, she was permitted to settle in Poland, where she lived until coming to Canada in 1965. Here she married Antanas Jankauskas and lived a hard-working, but happy life until his passing on September 3rd, 2011.
Stanislawa, a talented seamstress was employed by Cambridge Clothes in Hamilton for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and embroidery, gifting friends and family with her creations. She also possessed a great singing voice and belonged to the Hamilton Lithuanian Choir, a treasured memory, often causing her to break out in song.
