On March 17, 2017, Tom completed the longest and toughest marathon of his life and it is with great sadness that we announce his peaceful passing. Tom leaves behind his wife Adele of 56 years, his three children Gabrielle, Danielle (Dwayne) and Perry (Rhea). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Leigh, Luke and Thomas. Tom is survived by his sister, Geraldine Dorigo and brothers, Sam (Eileen) and Paul (Lynda) Marchese, brother-in-law Patrick and sister-in-law, Audrey Procyk (Bob- deceased). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Tom is a retired employee of Stelwire Parkdale Works where he worked for 35 years. During his lifetime he participated in numerous the Around the Bay Road Races, was a valuable member of the Road Hogs and ran many marathons; including eight Boston Marathons. Tom never met an animal he didn’t like and passed down his love and respect for animals and nature to his children and grandchildren.
It is safe to say that Tom took no greater pleasure than watching his grandchildren grow and he was very proud of all of them.
Words cannot express the gratitude Tom’s family has for the many exceptional nurses and PSWs that cared for him from St, Joseph’s Hospital, Bayshore, VON & St. Elizabeth.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a future date.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Tom are asked to consider the Hamilton/Burlington S.P.C.A. Online condolences may be made at www.marlattfhdundas.com.
It’s far beyond the stars
It’s near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
My heart will lead me there soon
