Just got together with my Cousin Tom F. Shilcock last February when I visited his home.  What a shock.  Card returned, no longer a phone number!

Tom was a great master of music, an exceptionally talented organist with a vast repertoire and an incredible depth of knowledge which he shared generously and humbly, always with a smile. He was a gentle, kind soul who made time for me and encouraged and instructed me in my musical journey. I will treasure every moment we played music together at St. Dominic Parish. Tom, my dear friend, i will miss you very much.

I have great memories of Tom when he was the organist at Marlatts in Hamilton.  I often sat in with him when he played for services.  When I volunteered to find a new organ for Marlatts, I think he was a little more than concerned, but as was usual was way too gracious to voice his concern, however he told me how relieved he was when the spinet Wurlitzer was replaced with an AGO Allen classical church organ.  He was a welcomed and appreciated part of the team at Marlatts.

I always remember him as Tommy.  He was a great organist at St. Paul's.  He really knew how to play music.  We were sad when he left.
My whole family thought he was great both as a person and an organist.  We are so sorry for your loss.

I have very fond memories of Tom at Temple Anshe Sholom where he was the organist for many years.  Tom was such a lovely man, always friendly, always so dedicated. I remember when we first decided to stop using the organ, and got a digital keyboard. Tom had such fun experimenting with the digital rhythms! I got a kick out of watching him play. He made a real difference for our congregation.

I will greatly miss Tom's uplifting organ playing and humble spirit, as well as his quiet sense of humour.  I had the wonderful opportunity to sing with Tom's accompaniment at church services in Oakville and Dundas, at weddings, funerals and at fund-raising concerts.  Tom helped me grow musically and I will always remember   his graciousness and generous support.

Tom was a wonderful, compassionate man and exceptional organist. I always looked forward to hearing him play and will miss him terribly. I am truly blessed to have known Tom. My condolences to his family.

Tom was a kind and gentle man.  He created beautiful music on the organ, and I loved listening to him play.  He was truly a gifted and reverent musician. He will be sorely missed by all of us at St Dominic Parish.
