William "Bill" Hunter

Son of late Jean and Hugh Hunter, brother to Gayle (Terry) Curzon, Marilynn Zimmerman & late Mary Hunter. Beloved Husband to Janet for 62 years, loving Father to Krista (Dave) Rook, and Lynette (Simon) Aldridge and proud Grandpa to Cameron, Tyler, Alaya & Hudson.

Born and raised on a farm in Rockton, Bill’s roots were planted deep in the area. He was a man full of life, with a love for speed, adventure, and the great outdoors. As newlyweds, the couple ventured to California for a few exciting years before returning to Rockton to build their forever home which he often referred to as his own slice of paradise.

Through the years, Bill enjoyed time on the water, boating and showcasing his waterskiing skills. He was a talented trapshooter; and also looked forward to his annual moose hunting excursions in the North - a tradition filled with adventures and camaraderie. Bill found joy in touring the countryside on his snowmobile or motorcycle, as well as time spent on the golf course and galivanting with his two sisters. Bill loved spending time with his grandchildren and cheering them on in their various sports and activities.

Bill was a proud and dedicated member of the Rockton Lions Club for over 50 years. He gave back to his community through countless service projects and events, taking great pride in his contributions.

He leaves behind a family who adored him, a community who respected him, and a life that was truly well lived.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Rockton Fair Grounds on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 2 pm to 5 pm, with words of remembrance at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rockton Lions Club in Bill’s memory.
