After a long struggle; on the evening of Sunday July 24, surrounded by his loving family, William peacefully passed away. He is survived by his wife Laura Elizabeth (Schaeffer), children Sylvia Elizabeth Meldrum (Glenn) and Gerald William Kearns (Joan), grandchildren Brandon and Samantha Meldrum, great-granddaughter Emma Meldrum. Predeceased by his brother Ronald Kearns and his parents Adelia and Harry Kearns. Much appreciation and thanks to the St. Joseph’s Palliative Team for William’s wonderful care and support. Visitation will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 195 King Street West, Dundas, on Wednesday, July 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Marlatt Dundas Chapel on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
