Bruce Warren Newberg

Bruce Warren Newberg, 56, of West Hartford and formerly of East Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Monday (December 31, 2007) from heart failure. Born in Hartford on October 12, 1951, a son of Patricia (Poston) Newberg and the late Warren Roy Newberg, he had resided in the East Hartford area for most of his life. Bruce was a proud Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Prior to his retirement in 2001, Bruce was employed for twenty-five years by the East Hartford Fire Department retiring as a Lieutenant. He was also an EMT and Paramedic for the fire department and several area ambulance companies. In his free time, Bruce was an avid reader, a loyal and devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings football team, and an individual who enjoyed golf, camping, and skiing. Besides his mother, Patricia, of East Hartford, Bruce is survived by two sons, Bruce A. Newberg of Orlando, FL, Reese Newberg of Canton; a daughter, Sarah Newberg of Canton; two brothers and one sister, David Newberg and his wife, Lynne, of Ellington, Polly Silva and her husband, Stephen, of East Hartford, John Newberg and his wife, Darlene, of Vernon; several nieces, nephews and many caring co-workers. Funeral service will be Thursday January 10 with a celebration of Bruce's life at 10 a.m. at the D'ESOPO - East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
