

Cecylia (Pyszna) Parys, 101, of Manchester and formerly East Hartford, beloved wife of the late Witold Parys, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Born in Chicago, IL on November 21, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Zofia (Marcinowska) Pyszna. She met her husband Witold and was married in November 1941 had six children and returned to America and settled in East Hartford. Cecylia was a longtime faithful communicant of St. Isaac Jogues Church in East Hartford and became a member of the Elks Lodge #1893 in Manchester at the age of 98. One of her favorite outings was going to the Friday night fish fry. She had a great love of life, her family and music. More than anything, she loved her family and they were the center of her life. A loving mother, grandmother and Babcia-Babcia, she will be forever missed by her children, Mark Parys and wife Jadwiga of Yorktown Heights, NY, Elizabeth Burzawa and husband Eugene of East Hartford, Vincent Parys and wife Robin of East Hartford, Michael Parys and wife Elizabeth of Holland, MA, Sophie Miller and husband Donald of Bristol and Cecylia M. Parys and her companion David of Jupiter, FL; 11 adored grandchildren Michael Parys, Elizabeth Ruff, , Barabara LaSpina, Edward Burzawa, Kristina Falvo, John Miller, David Miller, Cassie Parys, Ashley Parys, Alise Kaba and Mary Kate McKeena as well as twelve cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Zygmund Pyszny of Poland, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Zofia Okroj and Veronica Zwalinski. Cecylia’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the east wing of Manchester Manor for the compassionate care and love shown to our mom, affectionately called Babcia.
Funeral services will begin Thursday (May 3) at 9 a.m. at the D’Esopo-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter St., East Hartford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain. Family and friends may call on Wednesday (May 2) from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
