Charles W. “Chuck” Hutchinson, Jr., 58, of East Hartford, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at his home. Born in Camp Lejeune, NC on March 15, 1963 he had been a resident of East Hartford for most of his life. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Grenada Invasion, and spent most of his career in telecommunications. He was a great father who volunteered several years coaching in East Hartford Little League and South Windsor Youth Hockey. A sports enthusiast, he liked bowling, playing softball, and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. Chuck will be remembered by most as being the “light of the party”.
Chuck is survived by his three sons, Zachary, Charles IV and his wife Andrea, Nikolas, and their mother Antonia; a daughter, Isabella, and her mother Lesley; his mother, Carole (Crews) Hutchinson; two sisters, Trudy, Tracy and her husband Frank; three grandchildren, Liam, Emma, and Pearl; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Charles, and his sister, Shelly Lynn.
Funeral service will be Friday (September 10, 2021) at 1 pm at the D’Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at the Veteran’s Memorial Field-Silver Lane Cemetery, East Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Friday from 11 am to 1 pm.
