

Evangelio “Nuny” “Evan” Collazo, Jr, 45, of Newington, peacefully journeyed Home to be with his father in Heaven with our Lord on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford on September 17, 1969 he had resided in Suffield, Windsor Locks, and East Hartford for most of his life. “Nuny” was a graduate of East Hartford High School, Class of 1988. Evan was employed for several years by Valassis, Inc., Windsor as a Manager. He loved golfing and playing poker with his family and friends. Nuny was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and of the New York Yankees, he attended their Home Opener for the past 30 years. Most of all, “Nuny” will be remembered as a loving son, brother, caring uncle and a devoted friend to his loved ones.
Evangelio is survived by his mother, Carmen M. (Garcia) Collazo and her husband, William G. Aloisa, of Berlin; his brother, Paul Collazo, his wife, Ileana, and their daughter Brianna, who was her uncle’s pride and joy, all of East Hartford. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Jovita Garcia of East Hartford; many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and his long-time best friend Beth Canny, of Newington with whom he made his home. He was predeceased by his father Evangelio Collazo, Sr.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (July 1st) at 8:45 am from the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Isaac Jogues Church, One Community Street, East Hartford. Burial will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, (Section 22-Crucifixion), Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday (June 30th) from 3-7 pm.
