Gina (Colaneri) DiNinni, 88, has peacefully entered into eternal life with her caring family by her side on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. She was the loving wife of 57 years of the late Mario DiNinni. Born in Palmoli, province of Chieti, Italy on May 10, 1931, a daughter of the late Rementino Colaneri and Gilda (Raimondi) Colaneri, Gina had been a resident of East Hartford for 51 years prior to moving to Wethersfield 4 years ago. She had been a talented seamstress for many years working alongside her husband at the DiNinni Brothers Clothing Manufacturing Company. A devout Catholic, Gina was a former faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church, East Hartford. Her passion was her family. She was a proud and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Gina enjoyed cooking and loved preparing delicious Sunday dinners and holiday gatherings. Her hobbies included knitting, embroidery, and gardening.
Gina is survived by her two beloved daughters, Marie DiNinni-Avroch and her husband, Steven, of Glastonbury, and Linda Isarai of Newington; three special grandchildren who held a special place in her heart, Bryan Avroch and his wife Jennifer of Stamford, Lauren Wozniak and her husband Brian of Colchester, and Juliana Isarai of Newington; three adored great-grandchildren, Marissa Avroch and Kayla Avroch both of Stamford, and Ella Wozniak of Colchester; many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and dear friends. Besides her husband and parents, Gina was predeceased by her sister, Olga Pagano of East Hartford.
Funeral service will be Wednesday (December 4, 2019) at 9:15 am from the D’ESOPO-East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Church, Main Street/Maplewood Avenue, East Hartford. Entombment will follow at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery Mausoleum, Bloomfield. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home chapel on Tuesday (December 3, 2019) from 4 – 7 pm.
